Don’t let the title fool you: the first Best Picture article/essay/post will still go live on Monday, May 4th. I’m excited to get this project rolling and there are no plans to alter that date. However, as I’ve been working on content—watching films and writing about them—I realized that posting new articles every day for the next 18 months would bring upon a burnout that I’d rather avoid. That burnout has a higher potential of occurring once stay-at-home orders are lifted and I return to my day job.
With that in mind, the decision was made to adhere to a weekday schedule for the site: New articles will be posted every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. This will allows for extra time for me to work ahead on articles and podcasts, and it will also give me needed time for rest. Just think of “Daily” in the title of the site as business daily.
I’d rather make this decision before getting started proper then feeling stressed and overwhelmed and missing a day here and there, and then weeks, then not posting at all. Again, I’ve been working toward this for some time, so the better I can get it started and off the ground, the better I’ll be able to keep on it and maintain consistency.
